Simon Says Stamp Hello Gorgeous Instagram Hop

There is a super exciting Instagram hop going on! To check it out just click on the Instagram button on the right and it will take you to my page. Today I am featuring a card made using products from the new Simon Says Stamp Hello Gorgeous release.

For my card today I used the amazing 6x8 Mom's Spring Flowers stamp set from the new release. I wanted to make another Mother's day card and this set is absolutly perferect for that.
I cut a panel out of water color paper to fit an A2 size top folding card base. I trimmed it just a little to leave a white border. I then stamped the large flower image from the stamp set using Versafine water mark ink which is great for embossing. I then sprinkled white embossing powder over the image and heat set it. I did this because I wanted to water color the image in a very loose and carefree way. Not "staying in the lines" kind of water coloring! The inks I used were the Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturataed inks. They are amazing to water color with. I took each ink pad and just "smooshed" it down onto my glass mat. I then picked up water with a paint brush and diluted the ink a little depending how dark I wanted to color my image. It was really fun just adding color where ever I wanted and not worrying abut shading or staying in the lines. I highly reccomend this technique if water coloring intimidates you like it does me!!

I then took the chunky Happy Mother's Day sentiment from the same stamp set and inked it up with a coordinated ink and embossed that with clear embossing powder. It heats up and dries clear to enhance the color of the ink under it. Gives it a little shine too! I added some ink splatters and some sequins to make this card pop.

I hope you get some inspiration from today's hop. Don't forget to comment on my Instagram post to win a $25 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store.

Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.

This week the challenge is Anything Goes

We are showcasing Simon Says Stamp Exclusive products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see what you make! As always just for entering you will be eligible for the the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!

This week's card is all about texture.

I used a piece of coldpress water color paper and trimmed it down to fit an A2 size top folding card base. I used the water color paper because of the wonderful texture it has. I just love the feel of it. Next, I used some distress oxides to ink blend my background. Oxides blend like butter! I will list the colors I used below in the supply list.

I placed the stencil over the ink blended background panel and taped it down so it wont shift. I then added texture glaze with a pallet knife. It will dry clear and shiny adding another element to my textured background. I then die cut the sentiment 3 times out of heavy weight card stock and glued them together for thickness and adhered it to the center of my card. I then trimmed out one of the pre-printed sentiments and popped it up using foam adhesive. A few clear flat sequins were added for a bit of sparkle.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and if you are interested in any of the products I used to make this card they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Hello Gorgeous Card

I love to play with new toys! Background stamps are amazing. The possibilities are endless. Sometimes something new comes along and changes everything up! I'm refering to the new Folk Art Flowers background stamp from the new Simon Says Stamp Hello Gorgeous release. It comes apart! The flowers and the dots pop out so you can make your background multi colored and it's so easy!

This stamp is made from high quality red rubber. So it's nice and thick. Pulling out the removable parts are easy and kinda fun to do. I like to call it pull apart stamps...you know, like the bread! Yes, it's all about food for me! I used the MISTI to stamp the different colors.

Here is a photo of all the items I used to make this card. Sorry the photo was taken on such a cloudy day. I wanted you to see the parts of the background stamp that pop out. The ink colors I used are the Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated in pads in Tidepool, Cheeky, Seafoam, Limelicious and Guava.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and if you are interested in any of the products I used to make this card, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Simon Says Stamp Hello Gorgeous New Release Blog Hop Day 2

Thank you for stopping by! Im so excited to share the project I have made for the Simon Says Stamp Hello Gorgeous release. Please click on this link to see the entire Hello Gorgeous release.

This is the ultimate spring release! A little bit of everything spring. The card I made is for a very special day that arrives with the blooms of spring. Mother's Day!  I have been a mother for 27 years now but sadly I lost my own mother when I was just a young girl. Mother's Day is a very special holiday to me. I can honor my sweet mother and the inspiration she was to help me be the mother I am today.

I made this top folding A2 size card using smooth white cardstock. I then die cut a rectangle smaller to leave a bit of a border using a stitched rectangle die. I then pulled out all my cardstock scraps!! I love making cards using my scraps if I can. Laura Bassen has been a great example to use up your left over bits and pieces of cardstock. Thank you Laura!! I die cut out some of my favorite colors from this awesome leaf die from the new release to make a semi-wreath to showcase the absolutely adorable Mom die! I just adore this die!! I die cut it out of silver card stock (a left over piece 😉).
I used a pre-printed sentiment strip also in the new release. I trimmed it out using my paper trimmer. Here is a tip I have learned: use a black marker to color the sides of your trimmed sentiment strip for a more finished look. I used foam adhesive to pop it up for a little dimension. I added some flat backed silver pearls for a bit of shine to my wreath.

Simon is giving away a $25 gift code to every stop on the hop from each blog and all you have to do to enter is leave a comment! Winners will be posted on the Simon Says Stamp blog Wednesday, March 30th. This is day 2 of the Simon Says Stamp Hello Gorgeous release so make sure you go check out all the inspiration from day 1 of the blog hop. For even more inspiration go visit the Hello Gorgeous Gallery.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and if you are interested in any of the products I used to make this card they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Art Impressions Food and/or Drink

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.

This week the challenge is Food and/or Drink

We are showcasing Art Impressions this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see what you make! As always just for entering you will be eligible for the the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!

Cheers to you! This week's card is more on the "drink" part of the theme. I also used watercolor pencils to color the image! I used the Art Impression's Seagull stamp set.
I am always looking to improve my water coloring skills. There are so many wonderful cardmakers that have so much talent using watercolors. I know the more you practice the better you'll get. I have a lot of practicing I still need to do! I used water colored pencils and a blender brush to color the image on this card. Water color pencils are a great way to get used to water coloring.

I made an inside shadow box card to showcase my water scene. I watched a Jennifer McGuire YouTube tutorial. If you would like to learn how to make one of these inside shadow box cards  cut and paste this url https://youtu.be/uZuC0SOuzRE

I made this card using white card stock for the base and a piece of Fog card stock for the front. I cut the Cheers letters out of pale blue card stock using some skinny alpha dies. I embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder on the front of the card. I used the colors of sand to stamp the inside sentiment. I will list everything I used below.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and if you are interested in any of the products I used to make this card they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Simon Says Stamp Hello Gorgeous Release

I am so thrilled to share a card I made for release day! Here is a link to see the whole Hello Gorgeous release.

I made this card using a top folding A2 size cardbase out of white cardstock. Then I cut a smaller panel out of white cardstock that I ink blended a stencil from the new release using Simon's Pawsitively Saturated inks. I used a background die from the new release to create some texture and then I die cut a circle out of that to frame my scene. I then stamped the birdie out using more of those inks. I die cut the birdie out along with the flowers, leaves, and branch from the same set. I'll list all inks I used below.

The Hello sentiment is die cut out of heavy white cardstock that is inked to match. I stamped the sentiment in coordinating ink and used a die cut sentiment strip to pop it up using foam adhesive.
To accent the sentiment I added some flat white pearls.

I hope you enjoyed my card today! If you are interested in any of the products I used to make this card, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Simon Says Stamp April 2022 Card Kit Life is a Party!

The new Simon Says Stamp Life is a Party card kit is here! Yay! If you want to see the entire card kit just clike HERE

Oh the many many birthday and celebratory cards you can make is endless! So excited to get this kit. I need birthday cards constantly! I have seen so many adorabe cards made with this kit that I could not wait to sit down and play. The stamp set that comes in the kit had banner stamps which are my favorite so of course I had to make a banner birthday card.

I made this card using a top folding A2 size card base made out of smooth white cardstock. I then used a stitched rectangle die to cut a panel a bit smaller out of the same smooth white cardstock. I then stamped the banners from the stamp kit in a rainbow of oxide inks. I will list the colors I used below. I cut them out and added a piece of foam adhesive to the back of each one. Before I adhered them to the panel, using the coordinating colors, I ink blended a bit behind each banner for a more festive look. I then added the banners and glued some gold and white twine above the banners and added bows to each end. I then finished the banners off with some diamond stickles for some sparkle.

I then took the Celebrate sentiment from the stamp set and stamped it in Saltwater Taffy oxide on white cardstock. I then cut it out and poped it up using some foam adhesive. I did the same thing to the Let's sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and if you are interested in any of the productus I used to make this card they are listed and linked below for your convience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

My Favorite Things Favorite Things

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.

This week the challenge is Favorite Things

We are showcasing My Favorite Things products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see what you make! As always just for entering you will be eligible for the the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!

This week's card was made using the Happy Cake Day die set from My Favorite Things. I made a square card just to change things up a bit! You can make your own envelope or it will easily fit into a regular A2 size envelope.

I started with smooth white card stock for the card base. I then die cut a stitched scalloped circle out of light pink card stock and adhered it to the center of the card. I then die cut the cake out of the same white card stock as well as shades of pink card stock. If you don't have a variety of colors to die cut from, you can always ink up white card stock to achieve the color combination you desire for your cake layers.

Using the happy from the die set I die cut each letter again out of shades of pink as well as the sprinkles. I also used a seperate birthday die cut from the darkest of pink card stock. I added that underneath the happy to complete my sentiment. I then added some flat white pearls for a little interest.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and if you are interested in any of the productus I used to make this card they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Simon Says Stamp Good Luck Charm Instagram Hop

Good morning my lovelies! I am happy to participate in another fun Simon Says Stamp Instagram Hop. Hope you can can join along. Just head over to my Instagram page for all the details. We are featuring the Good Luck Charm release. You will get so see some amazing projects and hopefully get lots of inspiration!
The card I made for the hop was super fun to color. One of my favorite things to do is just sit down and color away! This beautiful dafodill background stamp was just pure color thereapy for me. I began to make this card with an A2 top folding card out of smooth white card stock. I then used a set of stitched rectangle dies to cut a panel a bit smaller than my card base out of smooth white card stock. I then stamped the dafodill background stamp using some very light dye ink. I wanted a no-line coloring look to my flowers. I then colored the flowers in using copic markers. I used Y17, YR14 and YR18 for the blooms and W1, W3 and W4 for the stems.

I wanted to add a bit of interest so I took the next size size down from the stitched rectangle dies and cut out another panel from the background I just colored. I was a little nervous about getting it right after all that coloring so I made sure to center it and used a piece of low tack tape to hold it in place while I ran it through my die cutting machine. I then added some foam adhesive to pop up the smaller panel and added it back to the card like a puzzle piece. For the sentiment I grabbed some vellum and stamped my sentiment using black pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then used the next size down from the same stitched rectangle set to cut that out. Using vellum is a great way to add a large sentiment without covering up all your hard work! I then added a few details to the flowers with a black finetip marker and some black flat pearls.

Well I hope this inspires you to sit down and color away! If you have any questions, just leave me a comment. All the supplies I used for this card can be found at the Simon Says Stamp Store and are listed and linked below for your conveneice. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Altenew Bit O' Green

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.

This week the challenge is Bit O' Green!

We are showcasing Altenew Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see what you make! As always for entering you will be eligible to be entered into the drawing for a $25 voucher to the Simon store!

This week's card was made using the wonderful dye inks from Altenew.

I used a circle layering stencil to add the different shades of circles to my background. Using gold embossing powder and a small circle stamp I added some embossed gold circles to the background. I used a rectangle die to cut out the background and then I added to a top folding A2 sized cardbase. I die cut the Lot's of Love sentiment die out of matte gold card stock and cut the cordinating mat out of white card stock. I popped up the Lot's of Love sentiment with foam adhesive and adhered it to the white mat.
I then heat embossed in gold onto green card stock the sentiment strips. I thought this card could make it's way to someone who needed to hear these words. I also used foam adhesive to pop up the sentiment strips. I added a scalloped circle die cut out of vellum just to draw focus to the made sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed my card today and if you are interested in any of the productus I used to make this card they are listed and linked below for your convience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.
