Simon Says Stamp Dream Big Instagram Hop

There is a fun and inspiring Instagram hop going on to celebrate the new Simon Says Stamp Dream Big release. To join the hop just click on the Instagram button on the right and it will take you to my page. I am featuring a card made using products from the new release. If you leave a comment on my Instagram post for this card, you will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift voucher to the Simon store.
I made an uplifting card for the hop today using the beautiful floral dies and stamps from the new release.
To make this card I began with an A2 size card base using smooth white cardstock. I then trimmed down another piece of white cardstock to make a panel that would leave a bit of a white border. I then stamped the leaf background using white pigment ink and embossed it using white embossing powder to get a bright white shiny finish. I then ink blended the panel with distress oxide inks. I then stamped the entire panel using a scripty background stamp in a coordinating color. I then took the panel and die cut a circle to frame the floral dies. I die cut the floral dies from more white card stock and used the same oxide inks to add color to the flowers. Using foam adhesive I arranged them inside the circle. I popped the whole panel up using foam squares for a bit of dimension. I finished the card with some pre-printed sentiments.
I hope you head over to my Instagram page and hop along with us for more inspiration and a chance to win a gift card! If you liked the products I used to make this card, I have listed and linked them for your convenience. Thank you for stopping by!!

I always, always need birthday cards! So the card I made today for this week's challenge is a fun and sweet birthday card using ice cream dies from the new Dream Big release from Simon Says Stamp.
I made this card using an A2 size card base made from smooth white cardstock. I then cut a panel a bit smaller using the same white cardstock and ran it through my die cut machine using the Dibble Dot embossing folder for a textured background. I then pulled out several pieces of leftover colored cardstock to die cut my ice cream cones from. It's a great way to use up those scraps!!
I then adhered all the pieces together and using some foam squares. I randomly placed the ice cream cones all over the back of the panel that I had embossed. I then trimmed the pieces hanging over and added it to the card base. I then die cut the happy birthday sentiment and shadow. I used more white paper and silver glitter paper for some sparkle. Here is a little video to showcase the sparkle! Enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and if you are interested in any of the products I used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Simon Says Stamp Dream Big Blog Hop Day 2

Hello crafty friends! It's day 2 of the new Simon Says Stamp Dream Big release. Simon is having a promotion in celebration of this new release using code BIGHUGS
This release is SO amazing! So much to choose from. So many new favorites!
I'm having fun with color in my cardmaking these days. Playing with color just makes me feel good so when I saw this beautiful fern die, I knew I wanted to make something bursting with color!
I made this card using an A2 size card base from smooth white cardstock. I then trimmed a panel of white cardstock to be a bit smaller than the card base to leave a border. I wanted to do a technique called die cut inlay. That's where the die sits inside of the cut of the paper instead of on top of the paper. It makes for an amazing effect.

I die cut the sword fern several times and ink blended them in some various oxide inks and set aside. I then took the panel and again using several of my favorite oxide inks, just randomly blended all over the panel. I then splattered some distress inks and white ink on to the panel. When that was dry I then die cut the fern all over the panel and like a puzzle just fit the previously cut ferns in the negatives spots. To adhere the ferns easily in the negative areas I added some adhesive paper to the back of the panel. I die cut a fun sentiment in white cardstock 3 times and adhered together for thickness. I then added some clear sequins and called it a day!
I hope you got some inspiration today! There is lot's more from Day 1 of the release hop and make sure you leave a comment on this post and any post you visit on the hop, for a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to the Simon store. Winners will be posted on the Simon blog July 27th. Also, be sure to check out the Dream Big release gallery for tons of inspiration!!

I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and if you are interested in any of the products I used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

I then die cut the lemon, leaves, stem and flower from the new lemon zest die set and colored them with ink with a blender brush. I adhered them with some foam squares.
I stamped the sentiment on a tag banner. I then ink blended another tag banner and layered it underneath the sentiment. I then tied them both together on the top left side of the card and added some glitter to the sentiment and flowers to add some sparkle. My grandson loves books and he especially loves pop up books! So when I saw this platform pop up die I knew I had to get it and make something fun for him.
I pulled out this adorable dinosaur stamp set and thought it would make the perfect scene for a pop up card.

I die cut the Platform from craft cardstock and the Add-on from white card stock. I assembled the pop up card from the instructions on the Lawn Fawn tutorial on YouTube. I ink blended the top of the pop up platform using inks and a cloud stencil. I then stamped out the dinosaurs, volcano, trees, bones and footprints and colored them all in using copic markers. I fussy cut them out and adhered them to the different areas of the pop up card with liquid glue. I ink blended the corners of the platform using some brown distress ink. The sentiment was stamped and also came from the dinosaur stamp set. I made a video to show how it folds up nicely and fits into an A2 size envelope!

I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and if you are interested in any of the products I used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Hello Sunshine Simon Says Stamp Let's Chill release

Sunflowers have a duel meaning to me living here in Utah. When I first moved to her we had bought a home that did not have a yard. Just dirt and weeds. One of those weeds was a flower that looked a lot like a sunflower. For those of you that live in the area know exactly what I am referring to. Very pretty but a very aggressive weed! The other meaning is the beautiful large flower that is not a weed and produces the yummy sunflower seeds we eat as a snack.  I have since put a yard in and no more invasive sunflower weeds but sometime I do miss the pretty flower it produced!
Today's post is a sunflower card made using an embossing folder from the wonderful new Let's Chill release from Simon Says Stamp.
I made this card by inking up the flat side of the embossing folder with a yellow ink. I then added a white piece of card stock and ran it through my die cut machine. I then colored in the center of the flowers with an orange Copic marker to create that sunflower look. I trimmed it down and added to an A2 size card base of smooth white card stock. I die cut the Hello Sunshine sentiment from an orange card stock three times and glued them together for thickness. I then die cut the shadow out of white card stock and added them both to the card and a little sequins to add some sparkle.

Picket Fence Studios Make Your Own Background

Hi all and welcome to another week of the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

This week the challenge theme is Make Your Own Background!

We are showcasing Picket Fence Studios products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see what you make! As always just for entering you will be eligible for the the drawing of a $25 voucher to the Simon store!
I wanted to make a fun, bright and sparkly background to showcase the beautiful butterfly stamps from the July Simon Says Stamp card kit.
I just love making cards with lots of color. This card is definetly colorful! There is just no limit to making your own backgrounds for cards these days. So many wonderful products out there to create with.
I made this card using an A2 size card base made from smooth white card stock. I then cut a panel of white card stock a bit smaller to leave a border and ink blended a rainbow of colors. I started from the top corner and when to the bottom corner.  Using a background stamp and the shiny paper glitz and some clear embossing powder I created a light pattern on the panel. I then stamped the butterfly 6 times using clear embossing powder and heat set that. I then colored the butterflies using the same inks I used for the background.
I then mixed some more of that paper glitz into white acrylic paint and added it to the bodies of the butterflies. I used some stickles on the wings for some sparkle. I stamped the sentiment in more ink I used for the background and butterflies. and used a sentiment stip die to cut it out.

I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and if you are interested in any of the products I used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

What was your favorite subject at school? Mine was coloring! It's only July but school is just around the corner. Summer always goes so fast and then it's back to the books.
Here is a fun card to welcome back the new school year!
I made this card using smooth white card stock for an A2 size card base. I then cut a panel of more white card stock a bit smaller to leave a border. I then ink blended some rainbow colors to create a shadow for each of the fun crayons in the same colors. I stamped the crayons using a copic friendly ink and colored them in with copic markers. I used a white gel pen to create some highlights. Please leave a message if you want to know which copics I used.
I then fussy cut them out and adhered them on the card using foam adhesive. I then die cut the word welcome out of black card stock 3 times and glued them together for some thickness. I stamped the word back onto a strip of scrap card stock and trimmed it down and popped it under the welcome sentiment.
I added the fun clear dops to add some interest to my card.

I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and if you are interested in any of the products I used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Have a Chill Day card Let's Chill release

I moved to Utah about 11 years ago from Huntington Beach, California where I was born and raised. I love the mountains but I really miss the beach. So, I was super excited to see all the beach themed stamps and dies in the new Simon Says Stamp Let's Chill release.
I had to make a beach themed card using images of lots of goodies you would find at the beach. Sun hats, flip flops and popsicles!
I made this card using an A2 size card base made from Craft card stock to look like sand. I then cut a panel from smooth white card stock a bit smaller to leave a border. I then stamped the popsicle, flip flop and sun hat outline images from the CZ Beachy Keen stamp set in light brown ink. I then stamped the solid part of the images in colors that I thought felt like a day at the beach. I then stamped the sentiment onto heavy weight white card stock and used the coordinating dies to cut it out. I then stamped the sub-sentiment onto turquoise card stock and trimmed it down and adhered to the card. I finished the card with some clear fairy drops.
I hope you enjoyed the card I made today. Please click on the link I provided to check out more of the Let's Chill release. Also, I have listed and linked all the supplies I used to make this card below for your convienence.
