I wanted to make a birthday card this week. I have a couple of special birthdays coming up in July!
My favorite dessert is cake! I thought a rainbow cake woud be fun to make. I also made a little video on my ink blending for this card.
I began with piece of smooth white card stock to make an A2 card base. I then trimmed down a panel also from white card stock. I chose my favorite distress oxide inks to create this ink blended background.
I then cut another panel from white card stock. I used embossing ink to stamp the Make a Wish sentiment at the bottom of the panel and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder. I then ink blended another piece of white card stock using the sames distress oxide inks and then die cut the cake from it. I used some small flower dies to decorate the cake. I then die cut the streamers and the flames for the candles from gold card stock.
I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and if you are interested in any of the products I used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

There is a fun and inspiring Instagram hop going on to celebrate the new Simon Says Stamp Let's Chill release. To join the hop just click on the Instagram button on the right and it will take you to my page. I am featuring a card made using products from the new release. If you leave a comment on my Instagram post for this card, you will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift voucher to the Simon store.
Butterflies just make me happy. They are so beautiful and give evidence change can be amazing and can open up a whole new world. There are so many metaphors for butterflies! This stamp set was perfect for me! Combined with my use of coloring to combat anxiety and the gorgeous images this butterfly stamp offered, I just couldn't resist! So I had to sit down and take my time coloring it. I think I went a little crazy with the color😂
I first took a piece of smooth white card stock to make an A2 size card base. I then cut a panel from the same white card stock to leave a white border and randomly stamped different butterflies from the set on the panel using a copic friendly black ink. Using my favorite shaes of copic markers I colored in the butterflies.
I also used a black copic marker to fill in all the white space between the butterflies. I then used a white gel pen to add highlights and details to the butterflies. I then adhered the colorful panel to the card base with tape runner and added the Sending Good Vibes die cut sentiment. I die cut the phrase about 3 times for dimension and stability.
I hope you got some good vibes from this card! Don't forget to visit my Instagram page and join the hop for more inspiration for this fun new release!

I love a clean and simple card. Infact, it's my favorite kind of card. They can be so elegant. I thought this wonderful layering die set from Hero Arts would be perfect for a clean and simple card yet yield so much dimension!
I made this card using a piece of smooth white card stock cut to be an A2 top folding sized card base. I then die cut the different layers of the windmill and tulips and trimmed them down to fit inside of the square frame die I chose for this card. I then used distress oxide ink to create the sky background. I also used Copic markers to color the windmill and tulips.
I then stamped the sentiment in Pawsitively Saturated Peony ink. I die cut an extra square frame and adhered the layered dies with liquid and foam tape to help add lots of dimension.

Simon Says Stamp Let's Chill Blog Hop - Day 2

Hello crafty friends! It's day 2 of the new Simon Says Stamp Let's Chill release. Simon is having a promotion in celebration of this new release using code PRISM
This release is super fun and super chill! The cards practically make themselves!🤣🤣
Of course my favoite item in this release would be the Beach Party Umbrellas background die. It's no secret that I love to color and that it's my therapy on a difficult day.
So let's dive into how I made this fun and colorful card! I began with an A2 size top folding card base made from smooth white card stock. I then cut another piece of white card stock to make a panel that would leave a white border. I then placed the panel into my MISTI and stamped the umbrella background stamp using copic friendly black ink. Then, using lots of shades of my favorite copic colors,  I colored in all the umbrellas and used a white gel pen to add some highlights.
I then die cut the Hello, Sunshine sentiment three times out of heavy weight card stock and glued them together for stability and thickness. I also die cut the shadow from red card stock and shaded it a bit around the edges with dark red distress ink to help make the sentiment pop! I added the die cut sentiment to the bottom of the card so the umbrellas would take center stage. I added some flat back pearls to the centers of the unbrellas.

I made a quick little video that briefly shows you the process of making this card.

I hope you got some inspiration today! There is lot's more from Day 1 of the release hop and make sure you leave a comment on this post and any post you visit on the hop, for a chance to win a $25.00 gift card to the Simon store. Winners will be posted on the Simon blog June 22nd. Also, be sure to check out the Let's Chill release gallery.  for tons of inspiration!!

Layering stencils are so hot right now! So many ways to play with them. I used this stencil to make these fun colorful trees and then I cut them out and made a dimensional background.
I made this card using an A2 size card base from smooth white card stock. I then cut down a panel from white card stock to leave a border and ink blended some little hills using some brown ink. On white card stock I stenciled the layering trees using some bright colored inks.
I then added some ice glitter to the trees to add some sparkle. I let dry and then cut out the trees and arranged them on the panel and popped them up for some dimension. I trimmed off any trees hanging off the panel and adhered it to the card base.
I then stamped the sentiment on white card stock and die cut a scalloped circle to frame it. I added it to the center of the card using some foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and if you are interested in any of the products I used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

Simon Says Stamp Sending Love card

My card today was inspired by all the beautiful blooms I see every morning when I take my dog on a walk. I just love this time of year when all the brown and gloom turns to vibrant colors and new growth. It always amazes me!
So I wanted to make a card to have on hand for someone that needs a bit of reminding that they are loved! I have made an Instagram reel to demonstrate how I made this card. It's under a minute so I'll go into more detail here. If you want to see that reel, just go visit my Instagram page @btarayao. There is also a link to my page if you click on the Instagram icon.
I began with an A2 size card base cut from white card stock. Then I trimmed down another piece of white card stock to make a panel that would leave a white border. I then used distress ink and a cloud stencil to make some light clouds for my background. I wanted something nutral to make a great backdrop for the colorful blooms. I then die cut flowers using a crocus die 7 times and colored them in all different colors using distress oxide inks and a sponge dauber. I then colored the stems and added the flowers to the cloud panel and with foam adhesive and trimmed down the stems to fit the panel. I then heat embossed the sentiment using silver embossing powder. Using a sentiment strip die, I cut out the sentiment and added to the base of the flowers.

I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and if you are interested in any of the products used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.

I then die cut the petals, center, stem and leaves from white card stock. I colored them using distress die inks and a finger dauber.
I then glued the flower together using white liquid glue and adhered it to the center of the lattice background. I then die cut the thank you sentiment out of gold card stock and popped it up using some liquid glue and foam dots so it would look like it was sitting on the flower. Magical Colorburst Birthday Card

Hello crafty friends! I wanted to share a fun way to make a colorful background for cardmaking or whatever papercrafting project you are creating! It's a new medium to me. I call it magical powder because it has such an amazing affect when mixed with water!
I am using Lindy's pigment powders. I discovered them while watching a Jennifer McGuire video. Leave it to Jennifer to play with something so amazing! I will find her turtorial and link it below. She makes some amazing backgrounds for cards.
I began with a piece of water color paper. I taped it to a glass surface to minimize warpage with all the water I would be using. Using a spray bottle, I spritz the surface of the paper to get it nice a slick. I then took a dry paintbrush and dipped it into the lightest color powder and tapped it onto the surface. It will literally burst with color when it hits the water so use just a little at a time!! I continued to do this with the next two powders I chose. You never know what you will get because of how rich the pigments are in the powders. I had so much fun just swatching each color!
There are so many colors to choose from. They come in sets of 5 colors and there are quite a few sets to choose from. I will definetly be making more of these colorful backgrounds. I have a couple of new sets on their way!

I wanted the background to be the star so I used white cardstock to die cut my Happy Birthday sentiment, flower and frame for my card. I trimmed down the watercolor panel to fit an A2 size card base leaving a bit of a white border for a frame. I just love the contrast of the white against the bold colors!

I hope you enjoyed the card i made today and if you are interested in any of the products I used, they are listed and linked below for your convenience. All supplies can be found at the Simon Says Stamp store.
