Stenciled Butterfly birthday card

Having some fun in the craftroom playing with the Rose Winged Butterfly die from the new Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Days release. When I made the textured and colorful background, I thought this butterfly die would be the perfect focus for the card while still letting the background pop!
I began with an A2 size card base made from smooth white cardstock. I then used another piece of white cardstock that would be the panel for my stenciled background. I used the Chunky Knit stencil with some metallic stencil paste. Using a pallet knife I added each color with not really being careful because the colors blended into each other so nicely. I pulled up the stencil to reveal a very textured and colorful background. I set it aside to dry then trimmed it down to leave a white border.
I then die cut the butterfly twice. Once from white cardstock and once from white fun foam for thickness. I then adhered the two butterfly dies together with some liquid glue. When that was dry I glued it to a piece of vellum and added to the stenciled panel. I then stamped the sentiment from the Sunflower Garden stamp set onto black cardstock strip and embossed it using white embossing powder. I adhered that across the butterfly added some stickles and called it a day!
I hope you enjoyed the card I made today and got some inspiration. Don't be afraid to experiment. I was gifted a set of these beautiful metallic stencil pastes and they sat on my shelf for a long time because I hoard special crafty stuff! Waiting for that perfect time that I will need it! Well, let's just say I have items still in their unopened packages from 1998! From my QVC days! Some of you might know about that😉

I have provided affiliate links below to all the supplies I used to make this card if you are interested. Thanks so much for stopping by!!
